Based on an original LM-1 recording by javd007 I have tried to recreate the same thing with t. LM-1 is a (semi-)faithful recreation of the classic Linn LM-1 drum machine used by artists such as Prince, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder and many more. The Ableton Drum Rack takes it one step further by presenting you with simple to use Macro controls to transform the sound well beyond the possibilities of the original hardware. The problem with free LM-1 samples is you often just get the one basic sound of each kit - no alternative pitches. Pitching in the sampler does not sound the same as it being pitched on the LM-1. This VSTi is supposed to do it properly and actually uses the raw data format I believe - I think you can even import DMX EPROM data etc.
