I am trying too get my Harmor and Sytrus VSTi's too work in ableton live 9, I have them in the correct custom folder that ableton is looking for, and it picked up NI's Massive, but does not find my harmor, morphine, sytrus or any IL Vst's. I specifically downloaded the VSTi Versions and yet they still don't work.

  1. Plugins Not Showing In Ableton
  1. Similarly, Ableton 9 and below are 32-bit only and will not display 64-bit software. Operating System: Check the specifications of the products you've installed and make sure your Operating System is listed as supported. Location: VST plug-ins may stop working when the standalone application of the plug-in gets moved, renamed or uninstalled.
  2. To get your iZotope plugin up and running in Ableton you need to check Ableton's AU/VST settings. Navigate to: Ableton. File and Folder. Make sure 'Use AudioUnits/VST' are all checked and hit Rescan. Windows users will only have the option 'VST Plugin Custom Folder', manually navigate to the location you installed your iZotope.
  3. VSTs (DSK Music ones) are not showing up in Ableton Hey Everyone! Basically, i downloaded the.dll files of the DSK Overture and Virtuoso VSTs, and placed them in the plugins folder.
  4. The plugin is said to be supported by Ableton 9 64bit on my Windows and the plug-in is even 64bit. After countless restarts, reinstalls, and more I have found no answer in to why my plugin I paid money for isn’t showing up after all the solutions the internet and forums have told me to do.
  5. Third party plug-in instruments, including NI plug-ins, must be loaded in an empty MIDI track. If the Browser is not visible on the left-hand side of Live's user interface, click the Show / Hide Browser button in the upper-left corner of Live's window. In the Browser CATEGORIES, click the Plug-ins label to access the third party plug-ins.
Okay, I'm surprised I'm the first to post this, but I have some VSTis which run standalone, but didn't show up in the initial scan that Reason 9.5 did. (Lots of others showed up immediately and run great!)
SO what's the procedure to:
a) figure out whether they are actually VSTs (I'm on a Mac, so they could be AUs)
b) if they are VSTs, identify whether they are VST2.4 - or whatever level it is that works... I know it's not V3.
c) put them where Reason can find them
ShowingThanks in advance for any assistance on this! Just for reference, the VSTs I'm looking for are: Morphine by Image-Line (my only Image-Line instrument), Absynth by Native Instruments (I also have Reaktor 5, which shows up, but I haven't figured out how to make it work yet, and PPGWave by Waldorf (Palm) - I also have Wavegenerator by PPG (Palm) and that one works fine...

Plugins Not Showing In Ableton

PS: for anyone who's wondering, these VSTs all work fine on my Mac in Reason 9.5: All of Arturia's Virtual Instruments: Analog Lab 2, ARP2600 V3, CS-80 V3, Matrix-12 V3, Mini V3, Modular V3, Oberheim SEM V (and SEM V2), Propher V3, and Synclavier V, and PPG's Wavegenerator. Native Instruments' Reaktor 5 shows up in the instrument browser and in the effects browser (3 times! As FX, FX 2x8, and Surround), but I haven't figured out how to make it work yet...
